ALLESLEY

This is an ancient village now absorbed into the City of Coventry. The main road from Birmingham to Coventry used to wind its way through but there is now a by-pass. The church, restored in the nineteenth century, has some Norman carving on the pillars. The Stone House dates from 1608. The hamlets of Pickford, Eastern Green, Hawkes End and Picton Green were in the parish.
