CUBBINGTON

The village is to the north west of Leamington Spa and now virtually a suburb of the town. The Rev.James Austen was the incumbent here from 1792 to 1820; he was the brother of Jane Austen, the novelist. Over the same period a prominent farmer associated with Cubbington was Joseph Russell, who invented a machine for gathering clover heads.
