MANCETTER

Mancetter is just over a mile south east of Atherstone which, until 1825 was a Chapelry. The Church of St.Peter and the almshouses are of interest. The manor house dates from 1330 but was altered over the centuries but is still an excellent example of a timber-framed building. Hartshill and Oldbury (not to be confused with the larger Oldbury in Staffordshire) are within the parish, the former being now virtually a suburb of Nuneaton.
