MARSTON SICCA

This parish was transferred to Warwickshire in 1931 from Gloucestershire. The Civil Parish is called Long Marston. The old village is about five miles south west of Stratford about a mile west of the A46 from Stratford to Broadway. The Morris Dancers of Marston Sicca (or 'Dry Marston') were famous in south Warwickshire. Some interesting old houses remain. In the church there are a number of memorials to members of the Tomes family. At one time the area was part of the parish of Clifford Chambers.
