PILLERTON PRIORS

The village is just off the Stratford to Oxford road about six miles from Stratford and a mile south west of Pillerton Hersey. In the sixteenth century it belonged to a Carthusian Priory. There is a graveyard but no church as this was burnt down in 1672 and has never been replaced.
