WHICHFORD

The village is six miles south east of Shipston-upon-Stour and lies in a secluded valley. The Norman church was extended in 1300, and much of the original building remains including glass and an octagonal Norman font. There are a number of old buildings in the village which is fairly extensive in area. Hamlets are Ascott and Stourton, the latter having been partly in Cherington and wholly transferred to that parish in 1910.
